- Hostage-Two clans wanted to be friends they agreed to take hostage of each others sons
- Short sword-Samurai's use them if they want to kill them self when they are ashamed of something
- 3 men-The unifinders of Japan (Ieyasu, Hideyoshi and Nobunaga), brought the civil war to an end
- Emperor-Is a religious leader and gives the role of shogun
- Hideyori-Next shogun once Hideyoshi dies
- 4 domous-To protect the five year old Hideyori and Ieyasu is one of them
- Hokkiado, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu- four main islands of Japan
- Edo-Now is know as Tokyo
- Archipelago-Large group of islands
- Kami-Divine spirits that live within nature
- Subversion-Corruption destroying someone's (or some group's) honesty or loyalty; undermining moral integrity
- Eta- Preformed jobs that were considered to be unclean, for example butchers and executioners and handlers of the dead. These jobs were mostly avoided by other people in society. They were considered unclean because they had come into contact with dead things and were considered impure and untouchable because of this. They were so low in the class system that they were not included in the class system
